Issued my account using incorrect name - US Bank Platinum Visa


This Bank issued my account using the wrong name. It is an internal error as correct information was provided to the bank during the application phase. I have contacted Customer Service multiple times and jumped through all their hoops to get it corrected. It is now 4 months later and I was told that I needed to provide legal documentation of my name change. There was no name change, how can I provide that documentation? What they have is not even close to my name but is now tied to me and my credit history.

During a call to Customer Service yesterday, I went through the same back and forth where they wanted me to once again provide documentation of a wrong name, provide my legal name change documentation and then I was told to find a US bank and talk to someone there. By this time I was really irritated and asked for a supervisor. I was told to hold on while the CSR transferred me to a supervisor. The CSR came back and wasted more of my time relaying supposedly what the Supervisor said. I then demanded that I speak to a supervisor who was unable to help so we escalated it to a manager.

I told her all that she had to do was listen to the initial call in which I gave all my information. At first that was out of the question but after she realized I was not going to roll over, the Manager agreed to find and listen to the call. I am now waiting for a call back from the Manager confirming what I said all along. US Bank made a mistake.

Today I checked to see if any changes had been made to my account and low and behold my wife's name has been changed to match my incorrect last name. I called again tonight and was told they did not see the incorrect information for my wife. I was staring straight at it when he said it. I was told and that I needed to wait for the Manager to find and listen to the original recording and there was nothing he could do to help.

The icing on the cake is that this upstanding bank sold our information so now we are getting credit card requests under the incorrect name. I will be transferring my account and will never do business with this company again.
